What we collect

  • Enquiry and quote forms: your name, email, phone number, company, and the details of your project and message.
  • Screed calculator: your name, email, phone and company, plus what you entered (area, depth, screed type) and the results.
  • Screed Risk Score: your name, email, phone and company, your role, the answers you choose and your score.
  • Emails and calls: what you send us, including drawings and programmes, and our replies.
  • Website use: technical information your browser sends when you visit, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you load. Some of this is received by the services that run parts of our site (see "Cookies and similar technologies" below).

We do not ask for sensitive information, and please don't send it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To answer your enquiry, prepare quotes and follow up – legitimate interests (responding to and developing business with contractors, developers and other businesses).
  • To deliver work we are contracted to do, or take steps before a contract – contract.
  • To email you your calculator results, our guide or Risk Score, and occasional marketing – consent, given by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • To keep records we are legally required to keep (for example tax and accounts) – legal obligation.
  • To run our website securely, including protecting our forms from spam – legitimate interests, or consent where the law requires it for cookies.

Who sees it

  • CSC staff who need it to handle your enquiry or project.
  • Service providers who work for us under contract:
  • our website, CRM, forms, email and chat platform provider (Go High Level, which we use as "Genie");
  • Google, for spam protection on our forms (reCAPTCHA), website fonts (Google Fonts) and the videos embedded on our pages (YouTube);
  • Google, for website analytics (Google Analytics), only if you accept analytics cookies;
  • our estimating and enquiry-logging system.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants and legal advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or a UK adequacy arrangement (including the UK-US "data bridge" for certified US companies).

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. We do not run any advertising tracking on our website. With your consent, given through the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (provided by Google) to measure how visitors use our site: for example the pages viewed, your device, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address) and how you found us. Analytics cookies are only set if you click “Accept analytics cookies”; if you reject them or make no choice, Google Analytics does not load. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link on every page. Google may process this data outside the UK, under the safeguards described in “Who sees it” above. Google Analytics data transferred outside the UK is protected by the UK-US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA).

Some services that make our site work may set their own cookies or receive technical information (such as your IP address and browser details) when you visit:

  • Forms and chat: our website, forms and chat widget run on the Go High Level ("Genie") platform, which may use cookies to make them work and to remember a chat conversation.
  • Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to check that a real person, not a bot, is filling them in.
  • Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google.
  • Videos: where possible, videos on our pages are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube should not set cookies until you play a video.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (look for "Privacy" or "Cookies" in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox). If you block all cookies, some parts of the site, such as forms, chat or videos, may not work properly.

reCAPTCHA may set cookies that are needed for spam protection. Where possible, we embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).

How long we keep it

  • Contract and tender records for work we carry out where the contract is signed under hand (a simple contract): 6 years after the project ends.
  • Contract and tender records for work we carry out where the contract is executed as a deed: 12 years after the project ends.
  • Enquiries, including lost bids (quotes and tenders that don't lead to work): 2 years after the enquiry is closed.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
  • Website analytics data (Google Analytics, only if you accepted analytics cookies): kept by Google for 14 months, then deleted automatically.

Job applicants

If you apply for a job with us, through our careers form or by emailing [email protected], we collect your CV, contact details, the role you are applying for, your answer on right to work in the UK, and details of your CSCS card, driving licence and tickets.

We use this only to assess your application and manage our recruitment process. Only CSC's recruitment team sees it, through [email protected], and our form provider stores it for us. We do not use it for marketing.

If you are not successful, we keep your details for 6 months and then delete them. If you join us, your details move to your employee file.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your data (access);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted (erasure), in some circumstances;
  • object to us using your data, including for direct marketing;
  • restrict how we use it, in some circumstances;
  • withdraw consent at any time, for example by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we use your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
