Underfloor Heating Screeding

IS IT RIGHT FOR THE JOB?

Underfloor Heating Screeding

The underfloor heating elements are typically enclosed within a layer of screed before the final floor covering is installed. In the case of hydronic underfloor heating, the heating pipes are usually secured to insulation panels on the floor slab with moisture barriers, and the screed layer is then laid over this to create a level surface for the final floor finish.

While traditional sand and cement screeds are commonly used for underfloor heating, they can be time-consuming as they require ample drying time before the final floor covering can be applied. It's important to note that using the underfloor heating system to speed up the drying process can lead to the screed cracking due to rapid drying.

It is important to note that using the underfloor heating system to speed up the drying process may lead to cracks in the screed due to rapid drying.

Underfloor heating (UFH) is an incredibly efficient space heating solution that works by distributing heat through electric or hydronic heating elements embedded beneath the floor surface. These elements are typically secured to insulation panels laid over the floor slab, with a screed layer applied on top before the final floor finish is installed.

At CSC Screeding, we understand the importance of a high-quality screed in enhancing UFH performance. The screed not only provides a level surface for the final flooring but also plays a critical role in evenly conducting heat across the floor, preventing hot or cold spots. When laid to the correct depth, a well-designed screed helps retain heat for longer, reducing energy consumption and boosting the overall efficiency of the heating system.

As part of our commitment to delivering the best underfloor heating solutions, CSC Screeding partners with Roth UK, a trusted supplier of UFH systems. We offer a wide range of screeding options tailored to meet the specific needs of underfloor heating installations.

Our Accreditations

CSC Screeding are members of Constructionline, CHAS and Builders Profile where a predefined Health & Safety questionnaire is pre-completed and our clients have direct access to the information. Documents contained in the pre-qualification system are updated throughout the year, ensuring continued compliance. We have focused on developing the business through constant innovation, implementation and collaboration.

We were an early adopter of FORS – gaining Bronze accreditation – as we recognised this would become more widely requested on construction sites.

We are now ready for the business to grow with the increasing demand.
